If a recipient passes or does not reply within 72 hours, the $1 message stake returns to the sender as nonwithdrawable Buckd message credit. The 20¢ handling fee and any optional add-on fees are retained after successful delivery. No subscription or automatic renewal is involved.
1. One-time membership activation
Membership is a one-time $1 USD digital activation and includes one promotional credit covering one full $1.20 send. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew. The activation fee is normally nonrefundable after Buckd activates the account and makes the included credit available, especially after that credit has been used.
An authorized creator invitation may waive the activation fee and include promotional credit. Because no activation payment is collected for that invitation, there is no activation charge to refund; the promotional credit remains nontransferable and nonwithdrawable.
Buckd will review a refund or correction for a duplicate charge, an unauthorized payment, a failed activation that Buckd cannot fix, a material technical error, or where applicable law requires it. If a membership is refunded, Buckd may remove unused promotional credit and close the associated account.
2. Purchased message-credit packs
A $6 USD pack provides $6 in closed-loop Buckd message credits—enough for five $1.20 sends at current pricing. You may request a refund of a wholly unused pack within 14 days of purchase. Once any credit from that pack is used, transferred into an active message, or otherwise consumed, the pack is normally not eligible for a partial refund.
Buckd will also review duplicate, unauthorized, failed, or materially incorrect credit purchases and will provide any remedy required by law. Refunds may remove associated unused credits and may require Buckd to adjust later credits or earnings if a refunded purchase already affected another transaction.
3. Message stakes and handling fees
A message that receives a reply is normally final. Dissatisfaction with the tone, length, or usefulness of a genuine reply does not by itself make the transaction refundable. Buckd may correct a transaction affected by fraud, unauthorized use, duplicate processing, a verified technical failure, or a legal requirement.
A sender may pay directly for one message or use Buckd message credits. If a direct payment is confirmed but Buckd cannot deliver the message because the door becomes unavailable, Buckd restores the full paid amount as nonwithdrawable Buckd credit and identifies that outcome on the member dashboard. The $6 five-send pack is optional.
Optional add-on fees
A sender may pay $1.20 to let the recipient include an image with their reply, $1.20 for anonymous delivery, $0.70 for a priority highlight, or $0.70 for an extended message of up to 800 characters. Each add-on includes a 20¢ Buckd handling fee. After a qualifying reply, the recipient earns the remainder: $1 for each $1.20 add-on and 50¢ for each 70¢ add-on, in addition to the original $1 stake.
After successful delivery, add-on fees are retained and are not returned when the recipient replies, passes, lets the message expire, or when either party reports the message. Reporting does not itself create refund eligibility. If Buckd cannot deliver the message, Buckd will not charge the selected add-on fees, message stake, or handling fee, or will restore or refund those amounts if they were provisionally deducted. These rules do not limit remedies required by law or Buckd's ability to correct an unauthorized, duplicate, fraudulent, or technically invalid transaction.
After receiving an answer, a sender may voluntarily tip $1.00, $3.00, or $5.00 plus Buckd's $0.20 handling fee. The full selected tip becomes the recipient's Reply Earnings. A completed tip is normally final because it is immediately credited, except for a duplicate, unauthorized, technically failed transaction, a Buckd-approved exception, or rights required by law.
4. Reply Earnings, reversals, and disputes
Reply Earnings remain subject to the 7-day hold and the Payout Terms. If a related payment is refunded, reversed, charged back, disputed, fraudulent, or invalid, Buckd may cancel or reverse associated credits or unpaid Reply Earnings. Where permitted, Buckd may offset an amount against future earnings or pursue recovery after a payout has already occurred.
5. How to request review
Follow the current payment-help instructions on Support. Include the email and handle associated with the account, the approximate payment date, amount, transaction or checkout reference if available, the reason for the request, and whether you believe the payment was unauthorized. Do not send a full card number, bank account number, password, government ID, or security code.
Request review promptly after discovering a problem. A 14-day voluntary window applies only to a wholly unused $6 message-credit pack; it does not reduce any longer nonwaivable right you may have under applicable law.
6. Refund timing and method
Approved payment refunds are sent to the original payment method through Stripe. Buckd does not control how long a bank or card issuer takes to post the funds. If the original method cannot receive a refund, Buckd will follow the options Stripe and applicable law make available. Buckd does not ship physical goods, so there is no return shipping or physical-return process.
7. Chargebacks
If you recognize the transaction, review this Policy and seek support before starting a payment dispute so Buckd has a chance to investigate. Nothing here limits your right to report an unauthorized transaction to your bank or card issuer or exercise a right protected by law. Buckd may pause an account, credits, or payouts while a dispute is investigated.
